PEN IS MIGHTIER THAN SWORD

Those who take the sword will die by the sword. On the other hand, if you use your pen you can earn money. Believe me! This is true!

Today I receive by post a cheque for Rs.750 ($15) for my article that was published in the Indian Express on 17TH Feb.2009. You can imagine my thrill and happiness. This post is just to share my joy with you.

This was posted by me in my blog on 18th Feb.2009 under the heading---A HEAVY LUNCH AND A KIND SOUL. My friends have already read it and commented on it.

Initially my idea was to keep a record of this incident in my blog. But when I sent it to the Indian Express, it was published. I was just lucky!

You can also try. Nothing is lost.

My best wishes to all.

Congratulations dear Joseph, for your publication. I hope you'll get other interesting events to write about and offer to a newspaper to publish. Even if your "adventure" was a little bit sad for you, and caused you troubles. I'm sure with your wisdom, you managed to surpass that trouble of having been stolen . This misadventure could happen in whatever country, unfortunately.

It gives me the opportunity to read an other of your post "Slumdog Billionnaire". Now, I feel I have to watch this movie.
Your pictures and your text make me open my eyes on a reality, not that I haven't heard of it, or read about it. But you gives me the feeling that it's more real than watching it on TV reports or reading it. It's the real daily life of these women, children, and men.

Thanks, Joseph, to share these "images" of your country that makes us think about life, its unfairness, and our chance.

Now, I can say that I have someone published in newspaper who comments in my blog !!! : )

I wish you a nice Sunday.

Congratulations. Actually, I think many of your posts could be published in the USA. The first post I'd read here, a sort of take off of Slumdog Millionaire, was very moving to me. ~Mary

The pen is mightier! And who knows how far it may go or who will be the last one to read it. Our writings and words are powerful. I am sure that you are smiling :-)

I am thankful when I think of how we are connected even continents apart.

It's always nice to see that other people like what you do. ANd money is kind of a proof for that, as poeple rarely pay for something they dislike.

Congratulations again, Joseph. I'm sure that there will be more literary triumphs to come!

CONGRATULATIONS! You are now a published author! Isn't it fun to see your name in print and get paid for your thoughts/pictures? I have had more than 150 magazine articles published. It is satisfying to know that something you wrote might help or entertain others. I started getting paid for it when I was 24 and soon got too busy to write very much anymore. I will go look for the article that you said is posted on your blog. I am so happy for you! You don't get rich by writing magazine articles, but it is satisfying!
Blessings, Sheila

Namaste & congratulations!

You do realize that you gave away your address and full name by posting the letter here? Perhaps you don't mind everyone knowing?
