LITTLE FLOWER CHURCH, KADAVANTHARA,KOCHI

Just a few hours are left for our Lord, Jesus Christ, to rise from the dead. I thought it would be a good idea to visit a church and pray. Please click on the photos to enlarge.

The Little Flower Church is located at Kadavanthara, Kochi. It is a fairly new church which was built after demolishing the old church which was small with a tiled roof. The parishners contributed very generously and this church was built at cost of Rs,. 3 crores. This is one of the biggest Catholic Syrian churches around Kochi.

Let us take a look.

I take this opportunity to wish you, your family and your near and dear ones a Blessed and Happy Easter. May the Risen Lord, Jesus Christ, bless us and show us the path to eternal life and everlasting peace, joy and happiness. Amen.

Hi Joseph, re your post on another Blog I always heard the inspiration for the flag of India came from the flag of Ireland, because Ireland was the first country to gain freedom from the British rule. The colours are the same!
I enjoy your Blog, you give a very interesting insight into life in your part of India!

Wow, such a beautiful church it is. Why is it named Little Flower, is it the shape of the building?

Today there was a lot of action in Kochi. The PM was there!

Good Holy Saturday to you, Joseph! I greatly enjoyed looking at these skillfully taken photos of this lovely church. It looks like a place full of meaning and illustrations meant to open the eyes of our hearts and set our attention towards the things of Heaven. I've thought about you a lot this Holy week, Joseph. I'm glad that the internet makes it possible for us to know each other.

Many blessings to you and yours, always.

Yours in Christ,
Mel :)

Bonsoir Joseph,
The Little Flower Church. Its name suits perfectly. As you know, in my country, our churches are in shape of a cross. Very high, even more with the steeple. Inside they're dark, to emphasize the stained glass windows.
The one you present us today, is so clear and welcoming, with a lot of space.

I'm amazed to watch so many children earning cathechism. "Let little children come to me". They're unfortunately less and less here. It is up to families to encourage religious teaching. And less and less parents involve themselves in this religious learning. That's the reason why I'm very surprised to see them so numerous.

Do not search for long time in your house for chocolate, Joseph. My beautiful chocolates bearer will not succeed to keep enough chocolate left for tomorrow. Have you noticed her mischievous look ?

I wish you a wonderful Easter Sunday, and most of all Peace for you and your family.

Happy Easter to you, Joseph.
I still have my first communion dress. I am a person who throws almost everything out, but Mom kept it and so have I. Weird for an Athiest, huh?
These are lovely pictures.
We have Catholic churches St. Therese of The Little Flower here as well. ~Mary

Very interesting to see that there is a flagpole (kodimaram)here similar to ones in the temples.
Very nice pictures of the church, which has such an interesting shape.

Happy Easter, Joseph! What a vibrant and beautiful church! I cannot believe how contemporary yet traditional the church is. What a testimony to the faith of the people and the work of the Spirit there. Again, your pictures tell those of us outside of India so much about your culture and the faith in your home country. Thank you so much for educating me about what's happening in your corner of the world.

Cheers!

Namaste Joseph...I trust that you are well. It has been a few days and I have not read from you so I am checking in and also reading this post titled "LITTLE FLOWER CHURCH" posted April 11th.

I enjoyed the design of the church (the photos of the outside). I see that you took the photographed it at a slight angle. I had to lean my head slightly to the right to have it look straight...haha, i think maybe that day you were day dreaming :).

Sir, Actually it is my pleasure to go through your blog whenever time permits. But I am too busy at home to create a blog and write on various topics. Nor I am a very good writer. So shall think of it later. Now I am happy reading your write ups. Thank you for considering my thoughts in your blogs.

Regards

Hi Rema:)

It is not necessary to write anything great in a blog. You must see some other blogs. You will be horrified. You need not be a fantastic writer. You can write what ever you want. You can even post photos of your family.

The only problem is that you can become addicted and if you are not careful about how much time you are spending in blogging, you can even neglect your other work.

You need not call me Sir. We worked in a British company and that culture is still with us. It may be good. But I will be delighted if you just address me by my name. We are great friends and nothing is going to change it.

Have a nice day Rema:)
Joseph
