NATIVITY SCENES IN KOCHI

WELCOME, WELCOME, WELCOME! COMPLIMENTS OF THE SEASON!
Here are some photos of Nativity scenes in Kochi.. You be the judge and select the best and the worst. Some amount of thinking will be needed. I hope you will give your reasons for your selections.
Best wishes!

Away in a Manger
Away in a manger, no crib for His bed,
The little Lord Jesus lay down his sweet head.
The stars in the sky looked down where He lay
The little Lord Jesus, asleep on the hay.
The cattle are lowing, the poor Baby wakes,
But little Lord Jesus, no crying He makes;
I love Thee, Lord Jesus, look down from the sky
And stay by my cradle till morning is nigh.
Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay,
Close by me forever, and love me,
I pray!Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care
And take us to heaven, to Live with Thee there.

Hello Sir,
The poem is fantastic. A wonderful tribute to Baby Christ.

I think the Crib with the crescent moon is wonderful. Though all are good this one is best according to me.Because the backdrop portrays the night atmosphere more closely.

I don't want to say anything as the worst for two reasons.
One, all have put up a genuine effort.
Two, all celebrate Christ. In the process of celebrating God, all are equal. :)

All of them are just beautiful. However, I liked the last one tbe best, as it looks very natural, because we have it set up outdoors, under real trees. It looks so good.

My comment on Christmas day does not show - my computer was giving me problems these last few days. I do hope you had a very nice time with family and friends. Here's wishing you a very happy new year in advance, as I would be travelling on new year day.

Hi Joseph,
After recently watching the movie "The Nativity" again, which I have to heartily recommend, I don't know of anyone that could have played the part of Mary, the mother of God, with greater dignity and purity than the young actress they chose.
But they chose a cave like stable for the movie, something like the fifth and eighth picture you posted; so those would be my choice.
Great post,
Fred

Thank you so much for sharing the photos, Joseph. What delightful nativity pictures.

My favorite nativity sets are rarely the "artistic" ones -- I like simple ones the best, ones that aren't necessarily all that ornate, but which remind me of Christmastime when I was a boy.

Thanks again for sharing these wonderful photos with us.

Cheers!

Missed out on wishing u A Very Merry Christmas, so shall wish u and ur family A very happy New Year In advance.Came to your post after reading your comments on Random Thoughts ......and i donot agree with your perception about Bush...America must have become a safe haven, after the mindless attack of the US, which was motivated by anger, and any act done in that state will always be violent and have violent repercussions, and now we are embroiled in a world of terorism with terrorists being scattered all over the world, even USA.With India not reacting the way Bush did does not make India alesser power than it is..We as a nation have always believed in peace and harmony..to want peace we have to create peace..sometimes at a cost. Its been 7 years since Sept. 11...and America is still waging a war on terorism,The fruitless search of Osama continues, ...Bushs approch to eradicate terror has failed, not becaz of resources but becaz of the approch. Do Americans feel safe? Not really ..Terorism has become more real a word than it ever was.Has Iraq and Afghanistan really been liberated.......A regime has been toppled and thousands of innocents have been killed and are homeless....

Hi Poonam :)

Many, many thanks for your good wishes.

I am thrilled and honored by your visit and well considered comments in responses to my comment on RANDOM THOUGHTS. It looks as though I have touched your raw nerves that you felt like exploding.

I love to lock horns and always welcome differing opinions and comments. After all what is democracy unless people are free to express themselves without fear. God has given us brains to think.

I will post my reaction to your comments in your blog.

Till then, I remain in gleeful ecstacy :)

I am sure we will be good friends and will not let comments come in the way.
Joseph

I like the second natifity best because of the natural greenery. In our pop culture jargon a "crib" is your home.

Such nice pictures. This is the core of the Christmas spirit, I feel, this scene in the manger, of a heavenly new born, bringing to us the taste of heaven.
