AND NOW, FOOD POISONING!

I ate a buffet dinner prepared by a local caterer at a party. I had food poisoning and suffered terribly for a few days. I had to spend a lot of money for medicine, listen to a heavy dosage of advice from the neighborhood doctor apart from causing anxiety to my family.
I do not know if caterers are covered under the jurisdiction of Food Inspectors. In case they are covered, are the food inspectors doing their job?

It is jokingly said that we have plethora of laws and to enforce each law we have numerous inspectors. For example police inspector, income tax inspector, excise inspector, factory inspector, boiler inspector, sales tax inspector, explosives inspector, weights and measures inspector, and of course our friendly, smiling food inspector. These inspectors are the ones who mint money by helping people break the law.

In other words, laws are made not to prevent crime but to help inspectors make money. You might be able to throw some light!

Hi Joseph,
So sorry to hear about your sickness. I have to admitt you made me laugh with your inspector critique. I guess it's the same the world over. Twenty years ago in the U.S. it cost $200. to get permits to build a house. Now it costs $10,000.!!!!!!!!!
God bless and I hope you are fully recovered.

How terrible for you. Even with good inspection, we never know how long the food has been sitting at room temperature. I choose to eat at home and prepare my own food to take with me if I need. Speedy recovery to you.

Hi Fred, Hi Leo!

Many, many thanks for your good wishes for speedy recovery. I am on my feet now moving around doing my jobs without breaking my commitment to my clients. I am only weak and have to be careful of what I eat and how much I eat.
A few more days and I will be my usual self.

Many thanks once again for your kind enquiries.

Wish you both best of health and happiness!

I'm sorry to hear about the food poisening... Hope you're feeling much better now!
As to inspectors, don't think it only happens in India... That is another form of corruption and that is worlwide spread!
The 1st photo is very funny! I've seen that poster around here too, but I will never see the movie, it is just not my type!... :-)
Wish you will be OK really soon.

Hi jm!

Many thanks for your kind wishes and throwing some light on the inspectors.

I would have been thrilled to see a movie of that type in my younger days.

Have a nice day!

Sorry to hear that you weren't feeling well...Food poisoning is terrible, no question.

As to your comments about laws and inspectors, they reminded me of a quote from George Bernard Shaw: "all professions are conspiracies against the laity."

I hope you're feeling better...

Food poisoning is at terible thing and I hope you have completely recovered by now! Maybe caterers keep the food too long in rooms which are not cooled?
I think that we need the laws although they are not always obeyed. I dont know what one can do against corruption. But your critique of the inspectors is really funny!
Have a nice weekend!
